Custom App

Dave from Stocktickr has posted a video of a custom app he created for Trade-Ideas API to help him generate his daily watch-list. I really like the idea. Anything that helps automate stuff, reduce clutter and manual work is a blessing. There’s just so much to take in and output every day when trading that the room for error makes it a case of not if, but how often, a trader will make a human error.

In fact I like this idea so much that I’ve recently asked Richard from Move the Markets, or should that be Richard from twitter jaiku? ;-) to create a small app for me that plugs into IB’s API and helps me prioritize and sort my daily watch list. He’s done a great job at it.

The difference between catching that 1 or 2 great trades a month and not catching them can make a big different to the P&L.

Thanks for the link, Eyal. I totally agree about the little things making the difference. If you’re not ready for those one or two trades a month it can be quite frustrating to miss them by seconds (like DNDN the other day for me).
