Not that many interesting candidates today. Traded just RIMM which worked ok-ishly. End result is +2.2R.

Other than monday, this whole week seemed dead. I just started watching for dummy and breakout day trades recently. Are weeks like this common?

PS I visited thailand (and cambodia/vietnam) on a trip recently and am super jealous of your new hometown).

I started watching the market from a short term perspective in July and August when the norm was triple digit days. I guess the only constant is change. But we have been seeing smaller moves in the market since Bernacke lowered rates more than expected on the 18th. Everything was short term overbought so that was worked off by moving sideways for a while. The worst days in my opinion are the choppy sideways days. On those days I’ve been focusing on hot / weak sectors and trying to buy / sell at the peaks and valleys in the S&P. That, or find any stock that happens to be moving when everything else is standing still.

gregh - they are more common than anyone would prefer ;-) the summer usually looks like this. Yeah I’m enjoying living here, I’ve got a vacation scheduled for December so really looking to see more of the country.

Rick - Yes the choppy low range days are terrible for day trading. Nothing in the market works all the time. Sounds like a good approach on the sector filtering.
