Late day entries

There were some good opportunities out there today. I’ve missed several good trades which were on my watchlist because I was involved in other trades instead. 2 of them were stopped out and I had some time to look at other opportunities but I’m having a hard time entering trades later in the day. I always feel like I’ve missed the bulk of the move in the morning and that I’m just going to get chopped in the afternoon doldrums. I know this isn’t how it always plays out but I just don’t have suffienct rules and experience for entering trades around noon time. I’ll be looking at establishing some rules around that and getting some data analysed. Might take a while, a few weekends maybe till I’m able to come up with something. In the meantime I’ll just have to stick to morning trades.

I am wondering how do you manage to trade the afternoon. Well, I am thinking if it is worth the time, especially, we are sacrificing our sleep time.
I am trying to do some data analysis as well to see if I should consider trading the afternoon session.
What I meant by that is initiating positions around the 11:30 to 13:30 timeframe when there is range contraction on established trends.
I tend to sleep between 2 and 3am anyway these days so might as well make good use of the time. By nature I’m a night person so that together with trading makes it very difficult for me to sleep before that time. I catch up on sleep on Saturdays :)
I see. I have actually read some strategy about trading futures in the closing hour. I guess, It is not for me for the time being.
Yeah, I would go to bed after 2am normally, and haha.. we both “delay” our sleep to weekends
I hope you have some flexibility on morning start time as well :-)
