Missed the movers Wednesday

Let’s see, what did we have today. The morning started kindda slow, low volume, very few candidates popped up and then.. kaboom the whole market goes down as the financials got killed. Unfortunately, I missed the real movers on my watch list – GRMN and WM and got stuck in sleepy NSTK on a late entry. It barely budged downwards from where I got in and resulted in just +0.7R.

I’m not sure Santa Claus is showing up this Christmas. This isn’t the first time the 200 day SPX MA has been tested, but there is a flood of negative news coming out right now and the markets shook off the latest interest rate cut like it was nothing. Of course, that’s more of a long term retirement fund view, not totally applicable to daytrading. Have you ever traded ETFs Eyal? I was looking at SKF today.
i missed both as your mention. We still have tomorrow.
Rick – I don’t normally trade ETF’s, maybe sometimes QLD, but I do have them in my long term portfolio.
Jerry – yes, tomorrow is now here, let’s rock n roll :-)
I was just noticing how the ETFs move a little more linearly. Of course they won’t move as much as the underlying stocks, but it looks like you could use tighter stops on them, which could even out. I’m at the stage where I’m throwing everything against the wall and seeing what sticks.
Rick – sounds like a good approach, just make sure you give things some time, they don’t always stick on first throw :-)
Very true, and when it sticks the first time, you think it’s going to stick every time :)
Yeah, thankfully it’s not that easy otherwise everyone would be able to do it ;-)
