Planning for 2006. What do I want to do, what am I striving to achieve, where do I want to be in my life 12 months from now.. I was talking to an old friend back from high school years over IM yesterday. We don’t talk very often but we’re still good mates. Life took us on different routes, especially with me leaving Israel. Anyways, both of us are at our early 30′s, both starting to feel a minor crisis of “life is happening right now” and unlike years ago there’s no more room for “some day..” type of planning and dreaming.
Imagine for a moment that you are 99 years old and on your deathbed. That sounds kind of gruesome, doesn’t it? I know, but just play along for a moment if you will. Let’s say you had the magical power of going back in time and giving the “you of today” some wise, sage advice. Which direction would the old, gray, and decrepit you of the distant future tell the younger, vibrant, and enthusiastic you of today?

There are a few areas in my life which I would like to change. I need to think more about what I will actually do about them.

I had similar thought in mind Eyal as I pondered the past. On top of my list is to travel more to places I have yet to see. i always go into the phase of pushing these kinds of things off because i have “other commitments”. I don’t want to be 70 yrs old and regret not having seen all the world has to offer.
Hi Nusair, I know what you mean.. having regrets in my life when I am old is one of my biggest fears. I sometimes need to remind myself of this when faced with present day fears of moving out of comfort zone, taking risks and taking responsibility for daily actions.
Thanks for your comments.
