These are certainly ‘interesting times’ a la Chinese curse side of things. US investment banks and financial institutions dropping like flies, these are companies that survived over a hundred years, including the Great Depression and are now going bankrupt. It should be a really wild ride today. An opportunity to make a killing but also to wipe out lots of capital. I’m going to play it very cautiously, as usual, when these sort of extreme conditions exist in the market.
IB is also taking some steps to try and limit their risk.
